Computer Section of BPATC is one of the most important units of Research & Consultancy (R&C) division. It looks after the ICT & e-Governance activities and imparts training on relevant issues. The Section also acts as the implementing agent of Digital BPATC. It is headed by a Systems Analyst. MDS (R&C) oversees the functions of the Computer Section.
At present, there are 9 (Nine) Computer Labs in BPATC with Network Printer and Scanner. Of those 2 (two) Computer Labs are situated in the faculty building-2 wherein 64 (Sixty four) trainees can use Computer at a time. 1 (One) Computer Lab is situated in the ITC wherein 29 (Twenty Nine) trainees can use Computer at a time. 1(One) Computer Lab is situated in the Library and 5 (Five) Computer labs are situated in the Dormitory-1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 for using participants of different courses. ICT module has been included in FTC, ACAD & SSC and selected short courses of the Centre where primary knowledge of ICT along with theoretical and practical sessions on MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, e-Nothi, e-Mail, Internet, Networking, Video Conferencing, Troubleshooting, e-Services, Innovation in Service Delivery and e-Governance are imparted.
The Computer Section is kept open for 14 hours in a day. The section also remains open on weekly holidays depending on the training load and the urgency of the participants. The participants and faculty members may also use the Computer Section.
There are two Video Conferencing System in the Centre. It is now used as and when necessary. This facility is used to conduct joint training sessions connecting Regional Public Administration Training Centres (RPATCs) at Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi and Khulna. Important government officers such as Prime Minister’s Office is communicated by using Video Conferencing. In order to make the training activities of BPATC more effective media dialogue was held including Prime Minister’s Office and major training institutions of the country.
An ERP has been developed and is using in seven functional units. For ensuring and improving the functioning of these ERP focal point officers are assigned. These software’s are running on a trial basis and feedbacks received from various corners are taken care of. The process of inserting data input is going on under close supervision.
The Section has set up an e-Learning Platform based Training Systems. A number of online activities e.g. distribution of course materials, submission of assignment by participants, circulating notice, online discussion will be covered under this umbrella.

ERP System
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a web-based application to manage and monitor all activities of BPATC. This ERP is a part of the digitization project. The ERP software can manage and track all activities of PMIS, Computer Equipment, CTMS, Transport, Accounts, Store, Dormitory and Evaluation etc. This ERP can be accessed through internet inside BPATC.
